Do I have OCD?
I have always thought that I did. I just took the checklist quiz and these are what I checked:

Name: Josh
Symptom: Need to align objects just so
Symptom: Sexual thoughts that one views as inappropriate/unacceptable
Symptom: Fear of molesting a child, despite no desire to do so
Symptom: Fears that one may be homosexual
Symptom: Repeating questions over and over
Symptom: Troublesome blasphemous or sacrilegious thoughts
Symptom: Excessive concerens about morality and right or wrong
Symptom: Repeated intruding images of violence
Symptom: Preoccupation with foods or food measurements
Symptom: Rituals involving food
Symptom: Pathological slowness in carrying out even the most routine activities
Symptom: Blinking or staring rituals
Symptom: The need to ask, tell or confess
Comments: Sometimes if colors aren't balanced in a painting or room or etc. it bothers me. And sometimes I walk around the house looking for something but not knowing exactly what I want. Also, when people don't capitalize correctly, spell words incorrectly, or don't use punctuation correctly, it annoys me.

those are all deffinately symptoms of ocd... please! Get help! it sounds like you are not in a good place with it at all.

Remember we cant diagnose you here... please see a phychiatrist and therapist and get their thoughts on it.

I don't really freak about my body though, so took that off the list. Do you think different now?

No, I really don't. Many people have little ticks and "things" but people with OCD have crossed the line with that... they aren't jsut little things. they dontrol their life and make things much harder then how the average person deals.

Re: Do I have OCD?
OCD is another thing that should only be diagnosed by a Dr.
You cant just say, I have all these symptoms, I must have it.
you don't 'want' ocd.
you don't want any mental illness.
just to say you have them is insulting to those of us who work to defeat it.

Re: Do I have OCD?
How often do you experiance this phenommena?

If you find it's interfeering with your life and causing you anxiety as others have rightly recommended, it's best you talk to your doctor (or GP if your in the UK) about your symptoms. They can refer you in the right direction.

However you may find that you don't have any mental disorder, so really, its still best to clear it up with a doctor and put your mind at ease.

I wish you the best.

Omg, Koler always has to be negative in majority of his posts.

Anyway, you probably have OCD and you should tell your folks now!

Re: Do I have OCD?
Well, those are symptoms. But do they bother you all the time every day, and kind of torture you? There is a show called Monk, an Obsessive Cumpulsive Detective (OCD :D). OCD isn't cute like that. It's scary. I watched this show on the Discovery Channel, where this girl had OCD. She had about 30 crosses on her wall. If she could even imagine that some are aligned six in a row, she'd have to move them around. Because 666 is belived to be the devil's number. She hated OCD, because it prevented her from really Living her life.

I have been diagnosed with an obsessive cumpulsive personality; not a disorder. Things bother me, and sometimes I type every word I hear in my head. It tortures me and I can't pay attention to anything. I get obsessed with things very easily. Sometimes I play a song in my mind and it plays so loud that my head pounds. Also some times I can feel liquid infront of my brain. Or a pressure inside my head. Not on my head-- inside. I can feel it and the feeling of it projekts in my mind as clear-orange or silver liquid.

But this only happens very rarely for me. MAYBE once in 5 months. The typing is more controlable now. This isn't that serious. Like I said, VERY RARE FOR ME.

But like others have said, only a certified medical professional can diegnose you.

Re: Do I have OCD?
Hmm, this is an interesting topic. I think I'm going to stay neutral on this and not say whether you have it or not. My advice would be to make an appointment with a doctor and get referred to a psycologist/psychiatrist. People said the same "OMG U DONT HV IT" thing to me and then I got diagnosed. Still, you can't assume an online test is always right so yeah.

Oh, is phychiatrc help free in the US or do you have to pay for it? Sorry for my ignorance.
