JT's Cafe and Bar

Hello everyone, I'm JT, was told I could do a thread here in The Sanctuary of The Misborn.
Some of you may know who I am, maybe a little about me, and there's a lot of people here I don't know, and I'd like to get to know better.
So this is about me, and my life. I'll share anything, as long as you asks nicely, and take your shoes off when you come in. There's some ice cold water and sodas in the fridge, so help yourself, and clean up after your self to ok?

So ill share some of my life in drips and drabs from day to day or so, may even reflect on my past when it's appropriate. Please, also ask me, anything, I give some great advice from what I'm told. Or maybe you just want to know something or something more about me.
I've posted some, and a coupe threads if you are interested, take a stab at it and hit me up!!

Let's chat

Re: JT's Cafe and Bar

Ok, so I'm JT, I just turned 15 last week!!:metal:
I live on the east coast USA and live with my foster parents Keith and Ann, been here since about Memorial Day weekend of this year. I go to a private catholic school, no I am not catholic, just the schools really suck in the city I live in, and they get a discount so they want me to get a good education blah blah blah.
It's actaully not that bad, just finished the first three days of school for this year, and it seems ok.

It's Saturday night, just chilling with this place square thing in my hand looking to meet some new virtual friends....😀

Re: JT's Cafe and Bar

It's Sunday morning here, and schools back in session so that means we go to church today
We've only been a couple of times over the summer, mostly just when we're home.
It's a pretty nice church I think, people are kinda nice, real polite and stuff, made some new friends a couple weekends ago there. A family just moved into town and they have 3 boys all about my age. I was pretty happy as I don't reall know many kids my age here. I moved here the very end of the school year, didn't have a real good start of either, but that's a different convo

Keith and Ann have me volunteer in the Sunday school. Kinda funny cause I really done know much about religion. My parents really didn't do much in that way, idk if im even baptized or anything. So if anyone has some info they want to share about religion, I'd love to hear it. I mean I've learned some from going, and from school, but seems like there's a lot to learn and all

So id love to hear from some one, just chat about anything, anything at all....

It's really not much. Just help with the lite kids and what ever they are doing for a lesson plan or what ever they call it. It's kida fun actually, learn some stuff to, stuff I probably should already know. We usually play a game or something that teaches them about religion and stuff.

They have a youth group here to, was thinking of joining it, but I guess it really hasn't started up for the year yet. Im told they do different fun stuff during the year.

Yea, Keith and Ann are Protestant, it's pretty interesting I guess. I always knew there were churches and people go there and stuff, but I was never reall exposed to much as far as religion goes till started living with them
Are you religious?

SethfromMI September 13th, 2015 05:29 PM

Re: JT's Cafe and Bar

I am definitely a Christian yes. there are many different denominations of Protestantism.

Re: JT's Cafe and Bar

I learned that recently, I'm not real sure which one they are.
Is there a way to tell?
I think I remember UCC
Does that sound right?
What denomination aee you?
I meet a guy here who was doing a weekly posting of what he learned in church every week, kinda liked it, but haven't seen him around for a while

Re: JT's Cafe and Bar

Imstarted a tread last week or so on this topic, and it keeps coming up to me in my head
I have this box that was given to me, it's whats left of my dads stuff
I don't know what's inside, and im really torn about opening it
People told me to take my time, I'll open it when I'm ready, don't do it alone
But I keep thinking of it, thinking its time to open it, maybe....

Put it away and don't open it for now. Maybe in six months you'll be ready, JT.
No need to rush.

Hi Noah, welcome to the Cafe'

This isn't an easy and short answer but I'm willing to talk about it if you want
My dad passed away this past winter, and my mom, well....she's not a real good mom and was prettynabusive when I was younger
Both my parents have substance abuse issues, which really weighed heavily in the last few years of my life
It's been complicated im sure you know...

aww. my dad died 5 years ago the day after christmas. which sucked but i got over it pretty quickly. some ppl take a while to grief over the loved ones they lost and others take no time at all. i think you should wait a while to open the box, do it when your ready and comfortable

UCC? well there are a lot of denominations

my church is technically non-denomination, but charismatic in many ways

I asked Ann, (foster mom) said congregational.
They seem pretty open about stuff, pretty casual I guess about stuff
There's a bunch of kids my age who do stuff outside of church which is cool I guess, youth group, think im going tomjoimmwhennit starts up again this year
Does your church have a youth group?
What kinda stuff you guys do?

I think after 5 years, yeah, it'd be ok with it. If I still lived with my mom or somethingblike that I think it'd be different.
Lived with my uncle for a short bit but that didn't work out well for me, and it's only been 9 months, so yeah think I'm guna wait some more
Just get thinking about it sometimes

Re: JT's Cafe and Bar

Very boring day at school today, probably because I did t sleep well last night, and surfed on my phone all day
Probably should get in the habit of leaving my phone at home so I can stay focused at school huh?

I did learn about the schools ski club and ski team today's, think im going to join it. Sounds like fun, and I really like skiing and snowboarding a lot
Probably a good way to meet new friends to.
