I think I have mild OCD

Hi, I think I have mild OCD because whenever I do something to one half of my body I have to do it to the other half; like I was walking out of my room going downstairs and I miss-judged where the door was and slammed my left hand into the arch way thing. It hurt alot but I felt like my right hand was missing out so I willingly slammed it against the arch as aswell so they would be even. Do I have OCD? Thanks. All help is appreciated. :)

Re: I think I have mild OCD

That could be a mild case of OCD, however it sounds a little off the spectrum. OCD is classified as an anxiety disorder caused by obsessions and compulsions. If you experienced some sort of anxiety from not having equal amounts of pain in both arms, and then after you hit your other arm the anxiety subsided, you could have OCD. However, OCD tends to be more on the repetitive side of things rather than the need to even something out. Although, I would check with your parents if you're really worried, because doing stuff like that is dangerous and you could hurt yourself if something more serious were to arise.

it is possible. if it continues and you think you need to, find a behavior specialist. it is a counselor who are often trained specifically working with people who have OCD
