So I read the sticky but does any one know any more methods? Anything helps :)
I'm trying the butterfly method right now.

I am always looking for working methods, too, so I would be interested in other people's ideas.

As for me, a girl from my class gave me a squishy anti stress toy today...she knowso that I self harm and thought this might be helpful....I will give it a try I guess as it was really nice of her.

I've mostly been relying on a rubber band recently, I keep it on my wrist 24/7. It just helps me remember what I'm trying to overcome. Since most of my urges are on my arms (that sounds weird... if that makes sense) it feels better to use it there since I have been holding off actually doing anything there. I wear my bracelets a lot more now too so no one really asks why I have a random colourful rubber band on my arm.

I've tried ice cubes, with limited results. It doesn't "hurt" as a lot of people describe. It's not really worth the watery mess everywhere.

One I do like is painting/drawing on your body. I saw it somewhere on the Internet, probably tumblr. But basically they got non-toxic wash off paint and they painted on their leg. I mean if you're putting effort on it it can really distract you and helps the urges pass over time.

The only method that works to me you need a partner. If you cut they cut, and vice-versa. Basically its not just harming myself anymore if i do then im hurting someone else. It sorta pushes me moraly to not.. You know.

I used to bruise my thigh. Like just punch it really hard until it bruised. I wouldn't recommend this though because I imagine it can cause serious damage over time. It's easier to hide than arm cuts though unless you change in front of others often.
