Why you show posts that are closed and wait till somebody responds before tell them closed after wasting time answering posts

Usually the message input box doesn't appear when a thread is locked. The only reason that I can think of where your case could happen is where a thread was locked in between the time you started typing your post and you finishing it, and so it comes up as 'closed' after you've typed your post.

I've also seen threads that are archived as people comment in them when they are more than 2 months. Why don't they just get automatically locked at two months. That would make mods life a little easier by not having to move them and tell people off

The OP is allowed to bump their own thread, so it's unfair to automatically lock them after 2 months of inactivity.

It wouldn't make our lives easier. It would just add work for the mods as we'd have to go through every thread and lock them at 2 months (there's no way to make them automatically lock). As previously said though the OP can bump them at any time so locking them automatically isn't fair.
