Things you do when you're anxious
Like the title says, what are some things you do when you're anxious?

Things I do:

-Chew the inside of my mouth and lip
-Immediately imagine a plethora of worst-case-scenario events in my head
-Can't eat
-Fidget with my clothes (or jewelry if I'm wearing any)
-Can't pay attention to what people are saying and drift off into my own panicky, convoluted thoughts
-Freeze up (my heart beats faster, stomach just drops, can hardly move or speak)

I fidget....a lot, which includes poking at my face, and doing weird things I'm not even conscious of (like pulling at my clothes or my hair) until someone tells me.
I used to bite my nails, but I've gotten out of that (it was extremely difficult).
I occasionally stammer and can't get my words out.
I shake sometimes.
I eat a lot more than I should when I'm anxious or stressed.
I cry. I cry a lot.

I can't eat and feel sick.
I chew my lower lip.
I talk faster.
I dunno if I really shake visibly to others but I feel like I do.
And yeah I play all the worst case scenarios I can think of in my head over and over again.

I chew my lower lip, likewise with my fingernails and the skin around them. I tend to scratch my hands compulsively too (when I'm going through a particularly stressful time my hands tend to bleed and scar) and I shake a lot. I stutter my words out and stay away from food.

I bite my lips.
Bite my nails.
Start moving my leg "to release the stress."
My face turns yellow or gray.
I feel sick.
I look at the ground and avoid eye contact.
My eyes tear up.

I go really quiet and I'm usually quite loud when near people I know and feel comfortable with.

I start walking around allot for no reason

I loose my abilty to laugh and smile

I stop paying attention and tend to stare in 1 direction for a long time with no clear reason

Sometimes my leg(s) bounce up and down fast;
Not just when I'm anxious but I move my upper lip in a duckface kind of style up and down a few times and it touches the lower part of my nose... It's weird, I sometimes like to do that for some reason;
I eat a lot to distract myself;
If I can, I start to walk around while just thinking, not concentrated on the real or just walk a lot from place to place;
If not, I start building up angry feelings, sometimes swearing in my head and thinking a lot about why I'm anxious or about wanting to get out of there and my heart feels weird.

I pick at my nails, pace, fidget, reach for my cigarettes/vape, stress eat (or be unable to eat like you), hyperventilate, get really agitated at everything, and sometimes even cry.

- Crack fingers/knuckles
- Rapidly move leg and/or feet
- Blink a lot
- Sit relatively stationary, depending on severity of anxiety
- Stumble with words, stutter constantly, shaky voice (more severe)
- Shaky hands
- Lose concentration and bounce off of ideas and thoughts rapidly
- Sleep; generally in small, contracted position
- Become very irritable, often feeling provoked when talked to, sometimes snappy in certain situations
- Clench jaw, sometimes hurting mouth
- Semi-rapidly move jaw in a little chewing motion with lips closed
- Stretch/crack jaw (my jaw was broken and I have a messed up TMJ so I can crack my jaw and stuff more than the average person)
- Sit or stand in a defensive, closed position

Some of these things I do when I'm not very anxious or not anxious at all, but I do them more consistently and more often while anxious.

Crack my knuckles, and keep trying to crack them way before they can be cracked again
Take short, far-apart breaths
Can't eat but drink a ton
Go silent
Get that faraway look in my eyes and stare off somewhere
Hands shake like fuckall
