Do you have an eating ritual?
One of my rituals when I eat is:
- Eat one whole piece (or 4 bites if it's not in pieces)
- One or two bites of each side
- 4 sips of my drink
- If I run out of my drink, I can't continue until I have more drink

Lots of people stare at me when I'm at a public restaurant because I line up my food from biggest to smallest. It's kind of embarrassing, but if I don't do it' I can't eat! :)

Do you have any eating rituals? If so, what are they? :)

Re: Do you have an eating ritual?
-eat the meat
-eat the most boring food
-pull a Gabe Newell on the rest (Devout it all)

Lol, my 'ritual' is a little cave man like.

Re: Do you have an eating ritual?
Not counting anorexia-related eating rituals, but just my OCD ones, I eat the foods I have in the exact order I like them. And depending on the food, there is a certain way I have to eat it. This part may just be picky, but I will not eat Asian food without chopsticks.

But even the specific things I do for eating different foods typically follows the best for last concept, but it's not just the order of eating foods, it's a bit further. :P Like I'll go out of my way and be very careful about it just to eat it how I want to. Like I'll eat crusts first before the rest of the bread, snacks have to be turned a certain way when I put them in my mouth. :P Let's see... I eat the tops of asparagus before the stem. Umm... I also have a large focus on eating mixed items proportional. So, for instance, if I'm having a salad, I'll judge based on how much of the other veggies/croutons/etc. there is in the salad, and try to eat the salad and the toppings at a rate together which I will eat a proportional amount of all of it so I'm not left with a lot of cucumbers at the end and I only had a couple of them when I started, or something similar to that. Soup however doesn't follow that rule, it just follows the best for last one. Desserts have to be proportional though, and a lot of other meals as well. Sandwiches and wraps are the same (more wraps though, I prefer veggie pita wraps to veggie sandwiches :P).

Re: Do you have an eating ritual?
first off - none of my food can touch. sometimes i can only have one course at a time on the plate at once.

i always finish whatever i started first. i can't move from one course to the next.

if i'm eating a sandwich, burger, or something else like that, i always eat it around. i can't eat from one side to the other.

with tacos and hot dogs, things of that nature, i eat a bite from one side then the other until it's done.

corn dogs, i always eat the corn bread off then eat the hotdog.

cereal, if it's like cherrio's or something that i can count, it always has to be an odd number on the spoon.

i can't eat unless i have something to drink.

always have to have an odd number of icecubes in my glass, same thing with veggies and meat.

there is more i can't think of right now, but that's some of it.

Re: Do you have an eating ritual?
-Save the best for last
-Have to have a drink
-Eat the crust before the bread
-With certain foods, there is an order that I have to prepare them in.
-With water bottles, I have to drink all of the water.

Cant eat WITH drink
The different kinds of food cant touch
If there is sauce it have to only be on the meat,it can not be on any other thing on my plate.
I have to take two bites of each until im full, and it have to be in this order:meat,vegetables,rice/couscous/other
And this is not exactly related to eating ritual but i refuse to eat food if it it potatoes of any kind on the plate

Re: Do you have an eating ritual?
Eat one group of food at a time.
Drink after each group of food is eaten.
...I think that's it. xD

Re: Do you have an eating ritual?
Alright, I don't have OCD, but I have a ton of eating rituals. This isn't including anything to do with any eating disorder I may or may not have or have had.

My food cannot touch. Or I won't eat it. I will not put something in my mouth that I haven't smelled. Like, I smell each individual bite. I can do this subtly...sometimes, so people don't stare too much. I eat what I like the least first and all at the same time and then what I like a little more, saving the best for last. But if I have three different kinds of food, I eat one kind, then the next, and then the last. All as one. The exception to the touching rule is things like salads and soups. But even with salad and soup...I'll eat like, all the lettuce. Then all the carrots. Then the broccoli, etc. And if I miss a piece of one, I can't it eat. So when I finish, there's usually like a random piece of lettuce or broccoli or something in my bowl. If the food needs cut up, it needs to stay looking like it's whole, but be entirely cut up. So I'll cut it up then put it back together like a puzzle then eat it starting with the piece next to the top right, all the way to the top left then all the way down then continue from the top right all the way down and all the way to the left, and then eat the middle pieces in a certain order depending on how many there are. Then there are certain things I do with specific foods like how I eat them in certain pairs or how I split them up in my mouth or how I eat the crust and then the rest of the bread, etc, but it gets really detailed and complicated, and I've already written a book.

Re: Do you have an eating ritual?
Eat small pieces
If its like bread or something with an edge,i have to eat the edge FIRST
Take three small sips
I HAVE to chew my small bites 25 times
And i dont eat until im full
I eat until im not hungery.
I also cant eat infront of alot of people
Only a select few.
Dunno why.

Re: Do you have an eating ritual?
Actually... now I think about it I have some really bizarre things I do.

Take a whole pea, eat the peas, then eat the pod.

Take a wild guess about Oreos and pizza.

Suck the meat and sauce out of pizza rolls then eat the bread.

Suck the seed out of a cherry and eat the seedless fruit.

Basically, I eat food from the inside to the out.

Re: Do you have an eating ritual?
I don't eat a lot in front of other people or I feel really uncomfortable.
I chew everything at least ten times.
I hate my food touching.
I eat biggest to smallest.

Re: Do you have an eating ritual?
Yah, I'm ana... I chew everything 60 times before I swallow and sip water every other bite. I cut everything into 16th pieces and I'm a vegetarian. And I can't go over 500 calories or I'll get fat and cut.

Re: Do you have an eating ritual?
I usually make everything into smaller pieces before I eat it. If it's a sandwich I always break it into 4 pieces first and eat it in a clockwise direction. Mostly I just really hate eating in front of people or watching other people eat
