This is a survey on drug abuse, just finding out the extent of drug abuse on this forum.

Why do you do drugs? If you do, and you are still doing any illegal drugs, why do you do them, list a few reasons.

I smoke cannabis about once a month. I know all the risks, have seen the warnings and everything. I make sure im safe though, I never hold on to any cannabis for more than a day to avoid gettign caught. I never smoke alone and i always take a sensible amount. I dont think i will try and other illeagal drugs. I could stop if i wanted to, but i dont because i like it.

4 out of ten teenagers have.

So that shows that 40 % of teenagers have tried drugs (even though an increidbly small sample!) which is very close the national statistic (around 50% i think?)

ya ive done plenty shrooms cocaine pot opium (dont do crack it is actually bad and more addictive than anything) but i could stop i only use them every once and a while 4 like partys and shit so im not gonna die from that

I smoke all forms of cannabis constantly, I drink occaisionally, and have been known to indulge in cocaine or mushrooms still once every so often. I'm done with extacy, and am glad I didn't get right into it. Same with cocaine, no more binges and forking out huge amounts of cash.

I did drugs and things, whatever I could get my hands on, but have stopped. Last time I drank was jan 7 2005, got high nov 2004. I knew the risks and things the whole time I did them, but it didn't stop me. I duno why I finally stopped, I guess I just got tired of the cycle. Got arrested, put in juvi, jail, rehab twice, drug groups for 4 yrs etc. One day, I just said f-it and tried to stop. Wasnt easy though :-p, but it's easier to keep a job sober, lol.

I never did drugs, and I never will. I know for a fact it can ruin your life, and I want to live my life as long as possible. I also want to be healthy, doing stuff like sports which I will be more active in without the use of drugs. I do some legal drugs like advil and cough medicine, but not in an illegal way.

I do want to quit smoking quite badly because I have asthmah, but I see no harm in smoking pot in moderation NOT foure times a day! ...I've seen that destroy people.

I do not do drugs, and i never will. Also i do not drink because i am only 15, and the legal age is 21. I do not do drugs and drink because:

1) Its stupid - Drinking and doing drugs can ruin your life. Also, every time you do either one of those, u lose brain cells, thus making you more dumb.

2) I'm an athlete - I play soccer on varsity at my school. If i were to get caught doing anything illegal, then i would get kicked off the team, which i could not deal with

3) Im on Student Council - Better known as Student Government, and we had to sign a contract saying that we would not drink, smoke, or do drugs during the school year.

I drink and I smoke ganja a few times a week. I don't abuse drugs, I treat them with respect. You don't fuck around with drugs, I want to try some other stuff, but I know my limits, I can stop anytime I want.

I do smoke Marijuana every once in a while, but when I do do it I usually bake it into some food. I usually do it once a month or on special occasions. I know about the bad things that can happen if you do it but I believe that if I only do it about once a month I shouldn't be harming myself too bad. Plus there are many many good things about it too. Also it helps me cheer up and not worry about some problems in life. I mean I still do what needs to be done but it helps with depression.

I've never heard the term "charlie" before. You know, it's true that a lot of people really are destroyed by smoking pot but I can handle it, I've been smoking pot every day for a couple years now and I have a 4.24 GPA in ap and honors classes. I'm very proud of myself for overcoming that stereotype. I also drink occasionally, and I have tried shrooms, cocaine, speed, and many prescription pills but I decided to discontinue all of that, now I just smoke pot and drink. All of this while maintaining great grades and I have never gotten in trouble...I guess I just like to party ;)

I smoke fags about 10 a day, smoke weed quite a bit, drink heavily a few times a week and take harder drugs anything from 1-5 times a month usually. I know the risks and know exactly what im doing to myself, i dont care i dont wanna live to be old anyway. its good fun, worth all the health risks in my opinion.

Why do you do drugs? I just felt tempted to try it, which was ridiculously stupid of me because I have a family of addictions and have the gene and oculd've easily been hooked.

If you do, and you are still doing any illegal drugs, why do you do them, list a few reasons: I wasn't in a bad peer group, I was just curious. They told me all these things it does after so many times, but what does it feel like WHILE you're doing it.

If you don't do drugs, why: I stopped because I feared I could easily get addicted from my family of addictions to different substances.

why are you proud, it makes me angry seeing so many people condemn pot smokers. i quit, but only because i didnt want to upset my mother any further. marijuana has been medically proven less harmful than alcohol. The smoke might harm you but no more than a cigarette. Also, if youve never tried pot DONT CONDEMN IT.

also when i smoke weed it does nothing for me but make me relaxed and more aware of my surroundings. always had any1 else get that? i know it varies but am i only one?

Never done drugs never will. I don't see the point in drugs no matter how "safe" they are because its just a false happiness or "high" that you get and most of the time. even if you are just an "occasional" drinker/drug user a lot of the time its to cover up a problem you have. I've seen a lot of people just "occasionally" smoke pot and even though there just as healthy as me. they don't ever want to do anything, they just seem to have lost there reason to be outgoing and active. I think you should find what your passion and love in life. and get the high your looking for off of that. the joy of life is as potent as any drug you will ever find.

it ultimatly is completely up to YOU to stop, there is no "trick" to stopping anything, you just have to stop drinking it, and then after that, you will have stopped, but its a tough mental deal to deal with... I would look for things to do every friday that doesnt allow you to have alchohol, then your time will be occupied by something fun, and you wont need alcohol to enjoy yourself.

Yes, I use to smoke alot of Marijuana/ Cigarettes Daily. I was smoking about 1/2-2 ounces of Marijuana per week for about 6 months. And no I didn't buy it all I'm not that rich. I just had friends who constantly smoked. Back when I was addicted to Marijuana (if you like something so much it does get addicting) I loved it. when I wasn't high I needed to get high and I use to even Steal money from my family to get it :(... I regret it all now but It's just messed up. the Times I had where fun I do admit but in the long run it's not worth getting addicted to. Once I get off probation I will probably smoke on occasions but thats all.

I'd answer the poll, but to be honest it's a bit crappy. Where's the option for "I drink/smoke ciggies or weed/do other stuff on a limited basis when I'm partying every once in a while, and continue to do so because I'm a) not addicted and b) at that level of use there are no major health risks, at least not without long-term chronic use"? If you truly feel ok with what you're doing you wouldn't feel the need to jump on someone with a conflicting view as if you're desperately trying to crush it because you're so threatened by a negative aspect of what you're doing.

Sometimes its impossible to reason with drug users. I see nothing wrong if they at least acknowledge the health risks and warnings, but to pretend they don't exist or downplay them is irresponsible not only to yourself but people who read this forum.

I think that should be something drug abusers and anti-drug folk could agree on - that there's an acknowledgment of health risks, but some drug users would rather plug their ears and say their habits are at the right level to be safe because no one likes to think what they're doing could be wrong or harmful.

Taken moderately drugs don't have many bad effects to you. Not more than other things like fast food, etc.

I smoke Marijuana, and don't intend to stop anytime soon. I have Bipolar Disorder, and it really does help with the rages, and mania alot. No side-effects like many of my meds though. Plus, the meds just make me depressed allot, and they alwase make me really fat. But if I thought the Marijuana was a health risk at the moment, I would stop right away. As it is, I only smoke once in a while-I am not saying to start smokeing pot if you have bi-polar. I'm just saying it helps me.

i do; weed, draw, ket, speed, E and poppers, i only do it when i'm out like partys or clubbing ect i've never been pressured into it just was so curious i decided to give them all a go, i'm the type of person that likes to experiance everything, i've had good experiances and bad experiances, i normally mix my drugs with a cocktail of different alcoholic drinks which is proberly not the best idea. i sometimes turn to drugs because it's cheeper than my drinking habbit but with the same effects really. i also do drugs if i'm having a bad time, to put me in a good mood and forget about everything, doesn't help that my dealer is my friend and i'm given free drugs quiet abit, the temptation is too much.

I do weed occasionally, which is about 0-1 a month. It's a stress reliever for me. And no way I'm doing other drugs.
