As a matter of fact, the reputation system was enabled yesterday - so you're not going crazy ;) One's "Rep Power" is either one's current reputation or one's reputation-altering power...

I think its a pretty good Idea.
Its more of a representation then post count alone.

The main idea of the reputation system is to get attention away from spamming and more focused on value of every post. Users can add or take away from one's reputation by clicking the appropriate icon in the lower left-hand corner of each post. They should also leave a comment when they do so.

And Cody, currently, your Rep Power is 6 because I added to your reputation :)

You can, but most people still have 0 and it doesn't look like it can go negative.

Sure, Cory, you can take away, but if my memory suits me (which it only does half the time :|) you have to have a reputation of at least 11 to have an affect on anyone's reputation. This means that while everyone (with a few exceptions) has a reputation of 10, they have 0 Rep Power, so they cannot alter anyone else's reputation.
