There are some places that I've heard of where minors can get confidential testing for sexually transmitted infections and pregnancy.

Do you think this is right? Say a 16 year old has HIV? Do you think his parents have the right to know? Or if a girl is pregnant, do you think her parents should know?

i think it is a good idea to have places for testing like that, because it can put young peoples mind at ease without involving the parents unnecessarily.

In Canada at least ANYBODY can be tested for free
If there diagnosed with a sexually transmitted dieses or any severe health problems there parents are informed
When your 17 hospitals consider you an adult
YOU make the decisions
they ask YOU they ignore your parents
So if you dont want them to know
Then the hospital is legally bound to keep its mouth shut

But you can be tested without your parents knowing at any age really
As long as you come out negative
They wont tell anyone you were tested

in the states, each state has it's own laws...so its different for each state.

If my child has HIV, I would def. want to know.
