View Full Version : enabling the spoiler bb code?

I'm not sure if this is a bb code, but could the thing be introduced? It would make story writing a bit easier as people would be able to tuck story chapters away neatly without it becoming too messy.

If there's too much risk of certain people in the Puberty Forums using the code to hide explicit pictures or whatever, can't the code be disabled in that forum?

This is been denied in the past, and I'm not sure that will change. this (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=210728&highlight=spoiler) thread sums up really anything I could say. I'm unsure if such mod that allows it in some forums exists, and given my (limited) knowledge on how they work, and how our forums work, it seems unlikely, but I can't be quoted there. Of course, we'll talk this over again, but I can't give you a definitive answer right now.

Okay, that's fine, but I just noticed something at the bottom of this thread and, well, all other threads on VT;

If ''[Spoiler] code is on'' exists, can't it be done exclusively for certain forums? Like The Open Book and the TV forum?

I can see it in certain forums such as the TV forum as shows premier at different times all around the world. But, what would you be doing in a thread about a certain TV show if you're not current on that show?

Unfortunately there's no way for that to be done. When bbcode is on in a forum, that means that all bbcode is on. There's no way to choose which specific bbcodes are active in individual forums, and I haven't found a plugin that would enable such behavior either

Ah ok. I understand, that's fine.

Downtown Abbey is a popular show in Britain. The final season will premier this fall over there, but we in the USA won't see it until January 2016.

Other shows are similar...or maybe just by a week or two.

But as said, things aren't possible. Either "on" or off. No in-between.

Oh I understand now. Haha I used to be a Downtown Abbey fan although I haven't seen it in like three years.

Back on topic, I wasn't intending for it to be used solely for the TV forum; I was hoping it could have been enabled in ''The Open Book'' because it would make chapters look neater and easier to organise.

Anyway the idea has been rejected so I'm fine with the bb codes that are available now.
