Okay, my friend and I just went and did her senior portraits downtown recently. I'm pretty proud of them. Im not showing all of them, but only a few. Tell me what you think, if you would like.

I'll have them numbered so you can critique each individual photo easier.

PS sorry if they don't look very good, I am linking them from facebook. I'll put them up on flickr soon so you guys can have a look-see at better quality.

#1 is awesome but i would re-adjust the framing so that here knee is not getting clipped off. i like #2, i think you pulled off the flare trick really nice. #3 feels a bit awkward to me, i would open up the aperture and get closer to the gate so that im shooting down (parallel with) the gate. #4 is awesome too, just make sure to clean the glasses.#5 i like the idea but, the lighting, i think it would be better if the sun was behind her.

I think they are wonderful, Mickel. Number 1 is lovely, but I agree with Ricardo that you should adjust the cropping so that her knee isn't cut off. Number 2 is very well done, great job with the flare, lighting, and the composition. I don't love number 3, but it is an alright posed portrait. Number four is also fantastic -- I love the lighting and composition. I also think the concept of number 5 is good, and shows nice compositional skills, but the lighting may be better behind her.

Thank you! next time I have someone walking off into the distance, I'll keep that in mind. Oh and with #2, I was actually trying to have the sunrays come from the contact point on the violin with the stick thingy. But it wasn't working out, maybe another time.

I really like #4. When I saw it for the first time on my laptop screen, i smiled really big. I liked the softness of the shadows, but it had great range from darks to lights. Added lots of depth to it, that loved seeing.

Again, thanks for the critique. I'll keep them in mind next time.

Also #1 wasn't cropped, it was the way I framed it. Wasn't thinking too much about that at the time, but I'll make sure to next time.

I don't have much of a review to give, but I think the 2nd photo looks quite nice. The angle, lighting, and flare are extremely well done. Most definitely my favorite out of the set.
