Seems like there's less love nowadays for dinosaurs:(

Prove them wrong! Dino nerds unite!
I guess you normal folk can join in too:P

What's your favourite dinosaur and why?
Mine's Probably one of the titanosaurs. Armoured, giant, what's not to like?

I'm not that much into dinosaurs but I think alot of ancient lifeforms are fascinating!
Especialy the really early ones. It's almost magical what these things achieved.

I suppose British Velociraptors feast on biscuits and only drink the finest tea too? Hahaha:P

They still eat meat, but it was to have been cured in a pot of Earl Grey for at least a month, or they'll have nothing to do with it.

My favorite prehistoric animal is the Paraceratherium. It's a giant rhino, the shoulder height being around 20 feet.
This is it, versus the size of an elephant.

the pterosaurs were the most badass imo.

especially this big bastard (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quetzalcoatlus), one of the largest if not *the* largest flying animal ever. just imagine seeing a flock of these things flying overhead and then landing nearby, with necks/beaks as long as telephone poles and emitting these bloodcurdling screeches and shrieks. what I'd really like to know is if humans could have tamed them had our extant periods overlapped.

Interesting thing is that ceratopsians are now suspected to have quills and occasionally eat meat to supplement their diet.

Childhood ruining time! Hi Triceratops!

:wub:what the fuck is that?? triceratops was an herbivore!!!

Many 'strict herbivores' actually do occasionally eat meat to supplement their diet. Deer have been known to eat bird bones, rabbits and eggs, cows have been seen eating hatchlings, pandas have been seen eating dead buffalo or small rodents, hippos occasionally eat other dead hippos etc. Analysis of triceratops and other ceratopsian skulls show that their beaks would've cut through meat just fine, leading to the possibility that it might have ate a little meat occasionally for the nutrients.

Also the reverse is very common too. Wolves, and Crocodiles have been known to eat fruit, and dogs have been spotted eating grass.

In nature herbivore and carnivore isn't as black and white as one might assume:D
