The following is a poem the I wrote during a 30-minute free session of English class.

Cloaks of the Past

Trotting along Ol' Memory Lane,
I stumble upon
An old friend of mine.
Cursing and brooding,
He lies on the lawn.
By light of the day,
He's lost and astray,
His complexion spins tales
Of such disarray
And horrors and pains that truly dismay.
A nomad of past,
As I tend to call him,
Continues the search,
Seeking reside.
His abode is clouded
When viewed from afar,
But peeking in closer
Reveals what hides.
Just a visit is all;
That couldn't hurt.
But what will unturn
Is something unwanted.
By a flash of great mass,
I stumble in shock.
In awe, I peer up,
And see what has struck.
With leaps and lunges,
Screeching and scrounging,
An entity gone mad
Now seeks my destruction.
How could this happen?
This cannot be real.
All I had done
Was wander about.
Little had I known
That these thoughts were tainted.
What seemed like normality
Has been my life's parry.

Thank you for reading! :D

Thank you! :D

I've never really written a poem before, but I feel like this one came out well.
