View Full Version : What's your biggest influence on learning about puberty?

September 4th, 2017, 10:43 PM
Where do you get most of your info on puberty and sex? Parents, siblings, friends, school, internet, etc?

September 4th, 2017, 11:17 PM
My mom, was my first major source of info. Since then it's still her, but also the internet or health magazines/books.

Definitely mom, she answered so many of my questions and she is so easy to talk to about things like that. Looked things up on the internet. Then of course compared notes with my close friends.

When you ask about info on puberty and sex, that was mostly when I was 11 through 13. I'd say for me it was mostly from nasty rumors my friends told me ("To make a baby a guy's gotta put his stiff thing inside a girl and piss in her!!"), which I'd then sometimes spend hours searching for real facts on the internet. My dad gave me a talk about my own physical development and what was going to happen to me, after he saw me get out of the shower and saw I was developing some little hairs. That was mostly it for me.

I said Dad. We'd spend time talking about things. It wasn't "the talk" but we covered enough that I learned some things from him.

September 6th, 2017, 06:37 PM
parents and friends, some internet

When my dad talked to me, it was already sort of too late in that most of what he told me I already realized or was dealing with. He told me I'd probably start waking up with erections almost every morning (he was about a year late for that one). He told me the basics about masturbation, orgasms, and ejaculation but I had already started doing that, too. But he did emphasize on me that puberty meant I'd be producing semen and semen contained sperm and that's what gets girls pregnant.

Mostly my Dad...he his pretty open and I can talk to him about everything. And the internet of course for some homosexuality related stuff. My Dad hasn't that much knowledge in this field.

September 18th, 2017, 02:41 PM
1. My cousin, who taught me to masturbate when I was 9.
2. The Talk with dad
3. My parent's medical library- learned that the clitoris is the only "organ" in males or females with the singular purpose of sexual pleasure.
4. More detail obtained from internet
5. My girlfriend!

First my Mom, then my older sister and modeling also was a big help as you see all kind of girls and what they are doing growing up. If I needed info on boys, my older step brother was a huge help.
