Have you ever run a mile on a track for PE class or for sports? What's your best time? If you haven't run a timed mile before what do you think you could run it in?

On a track basically sprinting, think I was just over 5 mins last year. Don't think I'm back to that now have t rimed myself in a while. But I also typically run every day.

And off a track, like running for just enjoyment in the street, or doing CC will give you different times to.

Why?
What's your best time?

Hmm, in Aus, we do things using the metric so I've gotten around 4 min to 4:30 for 1km, if I recall correctly, but haven't ran in quite a bit.

I really hate running, but I think I can do a 6 minute mile

it has been a while. if I was going as fast as I could go/decently fast pace, I think I could do 5-6 minute mile, probably closer to 6. I run longer distances when I run these days and while I still go for my best time, when your running more than 10 miles, it is about endurance as well

If I'm going out to see how fast I can run a mile, I can do 5:00 and change.

Like, twelve or more minutes. I was never the most athletic and I hate running.

like Seth said, I'm more of a distance runner. But I could probably pull it off in 6 minutes or so if I wanted to.

How far have you gone? I would like to do a marathon someday.

Haha. Nice try. I read you ran xc. I bet you're smoking fast whether you're being chased or not lol

Dayum. Tou're fast.

That's fast for someone who hates it.

Seeing that the world record is over 9 seconds I somehow doubt that lol

That's a good time. I run in high school and am pretty serious about it. My best time is 4:24. I just wondered what times people ran here. I'm always curious about what athletes of other sports can do too. Some people say LeBron James could break a 5 minute mile easily because he is in such good shape while others say he couldn't since distance running is a "different' sort of shape than sprinting on a court. Personally I don't see him breaking 5 myself. Close but not quite.

When I was super into it, I was probably around 8 to 8 1/2 minutes. I'm not really a distance runner though, I much prefer sprints.
