Pentagon wastes millions on Afghan army, another example of waste and corruption in the US military.

I have no issue with them providing uniforms for the Afghan army, the issue is the expensive pattern that is only useful in less than 3% of Afghanistan.

But having transgenders in the military would cost to much?

This is not even a big deal. $28 mil is a drop in the bucket. Plus, in all likelihood the military had that money left over to spend on their own (they are allocated a set amount of money). Sure, there is a ton of waste in the military because in the budget they don't really face too much scrutiny in terms of fighting corruption and waste. But waste is prevalent throughout the budget, usually in the form of sneaky subsidies. This is really only symptomatic of the flawed US budget procedure.

It is unfortunate because the US military is underfunded in some aspects like meals for soldiers and funds for the Coast Guard. If anything it just shows that the Department of Defense hasn't got its departmental priorities straight.
