How often do you look at porn?

Our generation is the first to have access to an unlimited amount of porn at our fingertips, instead of hoping that there are some torn skin mags in the forest. I wonder how this will shape us and western society.

I watch porn every day. I am a bit ashamed of it, but I really enjoy it and it excites me. And I do realize that it's not sex ed. And I know that the industry treats some women really badly. But I still watch.

And it's easy to find niche porn catering to your particular fetishes. In the 80s I'm sure there were no porn mags only about squirting for instance. This is probably mostly good, and can make you feel normal and unashamed, realizing that your kink is pretty common after all.

I wonder if our generation will be the most sex friendly because of this. I also wonder if it will make us the most body concious and sexually neurotic.

It's sort of made us both since we're a lot more liberal with what we allow others to see of us whilst also making a lot of others a lot more conscious and have a way more distorted view of sex and sexuality.

It's an interesting question. I think a lot of it is about people being exposed to perfect bodies in pork as well as a whole number of sexual acts and positions. We may start to expect perfection in our partners and expect the sexual stuff we see in porn in our own sex lives.

I agree with Emily. People always say that sex is nothing like porn, and that's totally true. I don't think it's bad that there is a large variety out there or that it's easy to access and find particular things, but people should keep reality in mind as a comparison. Also imo porn shouldn't be something that creates guilt, if it's something you enjoy and you're not harming anyone, then go for it.

I totally agree.
Porn is fine as long as you keep in mind that it is not at all like real sex. If you start to think porn is real and the sex you will have is going to be like that, you're in for a lot of problems.

Porn = fake.

That being said, I watch it regularly too. Who doesn't? :)

Yes I agree with the girls above. Porn=fake. But it's a nice tool to get ideas and help from.

I agree with this. I like it but don't set my expectations by it

Well we won't know how our generation is affected by porn for probably another 20 years. And I don't really have anything to compare to. But my guess is even tho past generations didn't have online porn they were probably still affected by porn. Take bullying for example. I think bullying is likely the worst it ever has been due to online, bullying has always existed. Idk if we can say porn is the worst it's ever been cuz porn really isn't good or bad. But I assume people have always had porn addictions. And I'm sure people have always been affected negatively by porn cuz they didn't get that it was really fake and stuff. Like I said we may have to wait 20 years for studies to be done but my guess is its no different. Maybe "good kids" are seeing porn more than past generations since it's sooo easy to see online and past generations "good kids" maybe didn't have access to porn as much but that is just a guess. All I really know is that clobo deserves today's trophy cuz idk how she has never seen porn lol

I've never watched porn..

Of course that is perfectly acceptable too. Aren't you curious sometimes though? That'a what made me start. They were talking about it at school.

Also I'm curious how you have avoided it. It seems it's everywhere, just a wrong click away.

Well, when I say I don't watch porn I mean I don't sit down and search for it. I have come across it when I've been looking for something else (like how to pee standing up - a topic that came up on here a month or so ago) if you find something sexual of course I'm going to have a look. Also at school friends have shown me video clips on their phone but that's about it.. I'm 13 and a virgin so when I'm not and older it might interest me more.

You're conclusions seem dead-on to my eye. I think every generation is getting slowly more accepting of nudity and sex, but people are still very repressed when it comes to sexuality. I think (and hope) that some of that will gradually change as time goes on.

You're also right that people are increasingly exposed to examples that aren't average in the way they are built, and it hurts their body-image. For guys, that's especially obvious in the fears about their penis sizes. For girls, it's more personalized, depending on a girl's own fears and what she's been exposed to.

I have watched porn and to me it is just something to do if bored. My Mom said once it is so stupid to say teens can't watch something they might be doing. I knew what porn was when I was like 10. If a teen has a computer you can not stop them from finding porn. We can find around almost anything a parent has for blocking sites. When I was 10 I was checking out how girls looked and how big guys were. My Mom sat me down and told me the guys in the porn videos are larger then most guys and I will be surprised at all the sizes I will see.

I think when we're older we're going to see a big relaxation of the porn laws.

Also, related to this. Given how easy it is to take and send nude pictures of ourselves I think our generation will have the first present to have a nude pic surface of them. That'll be a crazy time.

Good point about the nudes. I agree with that observation.
