My parents never went into full detail. Just basically said use protection and be safe. Most of the things I learned was from friends at school and online.

My parents are highly conservative when it comes to sex as well. I learned most of what I know from sex-ed, which was a godsend in a traditionally prudish Texas school.

My dad talked with me last year when I was 12 we discussed sex, erections, masturbation. It was pretty cool the way he did it, real comfortable like. We go to the Y swimming a few times a week since I was 8 so nudity is natural to us. It's just the 2 of us at home.

I knew some things from Internet and friends, but I got mine at 11 anyway. Most awkward moment in my life.

I think ALL parents should have the "talk" as such or just answer questions when asked, and give a straight and truthful answer, To many children / teens are getting dodgy information about puberty and sex etc from their peers and on the internet, so it should be the parents or sex education in school to give them the information the need to cope with growing up etc.
I never had the "talk" with mum it was just a ongoing thing whenever I wanted to know stuff, I just asked I have a very close relationship with mum she is MY BEST FRIEND.
Am sorry to hear about your parents Christopher (Tigers) but because they are Catholic that should stop them from giving you the info you need to to cope with growing up.
My family are Irish Catholics but it has never got in the way of been open about stuff.

So i was wondering has anyone talked about puberty or sexuality with a family member? My parents have given me the sex talk twice. First was when I got my first girlfriend. They told me to wear a condom and also to make sure that they consented and all that important stuff. That was when I was 13. Then I got the talk again just about two months ago again when I became single again after over two years. My mom knew I was sexually active, but then when I becamse single, she told me that if I was gonna have a sexual encounter with anyone, that I had to make sure and card them to make sure they aren't underage
How old were you? 13, 19

When I was about 10 or 11 my dad kind of went over it simply then about 12/13 that's when my dad basically told me everything in explicit detail. He gave me advice tips pointers really explained sex and he told me I should start watching porn around that age I wasn't really but that soon changed

I didn't get a talk. My mother just told me to google it. Of course I already knew most things by the time anything was mentioned to me. I think I was around 13?

It wasn't a one time "talk" I got, but over time my older brother would talk to me
about everything or I would just ask random questions. So I learned mostly from him.

I didn't have "the talk", but my parents talk with me and my sister and brother about things when they think it could be helpful. We are nudists, so they noticed when my body started to change. Then we talked about puberty a few times and they explained what I could expect and so on. I think this started when I was 9 or 10. We also talked about sex and doing it safe and so on. When I started to have sex I told my parents and we talked about it a bit more. My parents are very open about things and we talk about everything.
