As you all know probably, Carnival is a big thing here. I could never see my life anymore without this party, and this parade especially. This is a weekend to celebrate, party and reunite with friends you haven't seen in ages, most of the times, by accident.

Weekend starts Friday night with a Kid's parade of Comparsas, the groups of dressed dancers you're seeing below; which I never have attended, but will probably do next year. Followed by "murgas" which compete for the final section of their contest. They're groups of people who dress, and perform homorous versions of popular songs. Saturday morning is rest time. Saturday night, party starts. We reunite at a square, people from all over the country come, and there's mainly drinks, music, comparsas, and lots of fun involved, which doesn't stop (aka no sleep) until Sunday night. Party at the square ends at around 8AM, when people head out for the parade.

Starting at 12, the city is crossed by these dancing marvels. Percussion and very loud rhythms roam every street, even mines, living 10km away from where the parade takes place, and almost everyone, with no sleep (at least member of a Comparsa or aged 15-35), goes to watch the whole parade. Sunday night is sleep night, and Monday Afternoon/Night, we close it up with another same party with the same street. Now the Comparsas have revealed their costumes, they join in on the fun, and play and dance like it still was Sunday Morning. Around 9AM is closing time, and we go on for a little hommage to a sardine of some sort I don't know much about.

I tried to focus on some close ups this year. You can see the sheer happiness around everyone. A whole year of work goes into this, and a whole 4 day weekend of fun is had. Certainly, we cannot live without this, and this year I was truly sad when I got home at 6AM today to call it done until next year.

I have tried to portray the emotions as good as I've possibly been able to, and I sort of made it possible. Hope you enjoy this 1% as much as I do. This is one of a kind.

Sunday morning. Music Starts. 12PM and this blasts. Show is on.

Now, to the good stuff. Out of 300+ pictures within two hours and a half or so, here is what made it through the selection. They still need processing, but here's the raw material. 10 first ones go first, rest come below in the first reply.

And special mention to this person right here. I've never. Ever. Seen such a smile. I'm really bummed I wasn't able to equal the quality of the shot with the other ones, which certainly doesn't do it justice.

Also, I've Opened a new Facebook page along with my now "business" instagram to sort of promote my work. If you'd like to know about any of them, please say and I'll post them up.

Which costume did you like the most? What picture was your favourite? Who's the prettiest or most handsome person?

Hope you enjoyed! :)
