So I was playing rugby yesterday for my school and before the game I stupidly miscaught the ball. My left index finger was straight and the ball hit it straight on, compressing the joints.
Anyway I have been applying ice to it a few times a day 15 mins each time.
I have my gcse music performance - piano - on Tuesday and at the moment I can move my finger but it is impossible to play.

Any advice much appreciated, the internet doesn't have a lot on bruised and swollen fingers. I'm confident it isn't broken though.

What else can I do???

See a doctor asap. Only an xray can tell whether there is fracture or not esp for hairline fractures. If its a soft tissue injury the doc might give you something for it like fastum gel. Anyways its still best to see a doc to get a sick note in case u don't recover in time. The exam board might be able to reschedule ur performance with a sick note.
