Cats are just as much part of a family as people are. They become such an important part of your world.

I just had to put my cat to sleep on Wednesday, we found out he had lymphoma the day before and he started having a lot of problems breathing Wednesday morning. I had him for 12 years. I don't know how old your cat was, but just cherish the memories you have of him. It'll be so hard for a long time (I still woke up today looking for my little buddy), but everyone says it gets easier to accept with time.

If you need to talk to someone who totally understands your loss right now, I'm here for you. I'm sorry this tragic event happened to you.

*sympathy hugs* My aunt had a cat I really liked, one year it just disappeared, and there wasn't even anything left to bury, just gone. There's always the hope that it's still alive just "kidnapped out of love" by someone who wanted the cat. That's the hope anyway, but it's been over 9 years now that it went missing.

I was 4 or 5 when that was the last time I saw her. The following year my aunt called to say her cat never returned home one night.

It's a good sign that you feel attached to your cat even in its passing. It means that you loved it and cared for it. That's what matters in the end.
