The best groups from the '80s would be The Smiths, The Cure, OMD, ABC, Phil Fearon & Galaxy, Survivor, and REO Speedwagon. I'm not that fussy about modern pop songs, to be honest.:yeah:

Another good 80's band was The Mighty Lemon Drops, however odd these band names may be.

"The Smiths" has to be the most generic band name I've ever heard :D

I like bands from the 90s, and bands pre-80s, but there isn't much music from the 80s that grabs me. There is good music in all decades.

I love a lot of 80s music, though it's not the same as you. AC/DC and Van Halen are some classic bands from the 80s I love. The decade's also full of some of my favorite punk rock. Suicidal Tendencies, Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Fear, just to name a few.

Apparently, they named themselves that because they felt Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark was too pompous sounding.

I love The Smiths too! What's your favourite song? Considering I only listen to one Cure song, I don't want to call myself a fan seeing as I might be called fake:P

I like the Cocteau Twins and Bauhaus a lot, as well as the Cure and the Smiths. Mudhoney and Dinosaur Jr. are good too.

The 80s was an excellent time for music.
The B-52s had material in the 80s, as did bands like Bon Jovi and artists like Cyndi Lauper and Billy Joel. Such a good time for music.
I also take a liking to The Go Gos and The Bangles.
Good stuff!
