Just wondering who has or have had braces or a retainer ?

I had braces for 3 years then a retainer full time for a year now I just wear it when I sleep.

I had to have a removable brace from February to July this year. There was just one tooth that was slightly out of place and my orthodontist said there was no point putting a fixed one on for a minor problem.

I was lucky enough to have near perfect teeth, so I never needed braces. The rest of my family though has some serious need for braces.

Braces are almost becoming like a right of passage for middle schoolers here in America. Slight imperfections and kids are jumping to get braces, I really don't get it.

I've heard evil things about braces and my dentist said i can do invisalign instead because my teeth aren't too crooked so i am going for that.

I had them for 3 years too. Got mine off last spring. I can remember getting hit in the mouth with a snowball and then peeling my chewed up lips off of them. Man that was not fun let me tell you.

The majority of my teeth are straight, there's a couple out of line. They're not noticeable unless you're looking really closely. The dentist told me that I didn't need braces but my teeth will probably never quite line up (I have a slight overbite, and some of them were off-set due to my wisdom teeth growing inwards).

My teeth look fine without them so my dentist said I'm not in need of braces.

My jaw grew too far backwards so I had to have this removable brace with like blocks to make my jaw sit forward for a whole year. So uncomfortable :/ I'm glad I did it though.

I had braces for 2 1/2 years, and then the retainer, which I hated so never really put it in tbh! Teeth are still straight after two years without retainer so yea didn't really need it

I've had braces for 1.5-2 years, removed the in March/April this year and I'm now wearing retainers when I go to bed.

I had braces for just under 2 years (i think), and I do have a retainer. I'm really bad about wearing it though, oops.

I had braces for a little over two years I believe. They weren't that annoying once I got used to them, but I was ecstatic when I got them off. I have to wear a retainer at night now.

I've still got em  They suck but can be cute on some guys :D It's been a couple months since my first anniversary with them, as it were. The thing is, my teeth stain easy, and braces block off a big portion of your teeth, so I've really gotta work to keep from looking like I'm addicted to coffee :/

When my braces were taken off, I had them on for over half my life... got them off when I was 15 or 16 and had them for 8 and a half years. My teeth felt so weird after that. Just have a retainer I wear one or two nights a week now for the top, and then a permanent retainer on my bottom teeth. So glad to have them off now.
