What is your method of increasing your back muscles?

I have heard focusing on the back is important if you want to increase the number of push-ups you want to achieve.

Push-ups are for your chest and if close then for triceps.. There's a big variety of back muscles - rhomboid, trapezius,lats and kinda rear delts and more... Best back muscle builder pull-up,but don't forget the lower back so do hyper extensions or deadlifts

Yes pull up exercise will bring ur muscle up. And also swimming regularly.

As it was said in the previous responses, swimming is really effective in such cases ;) Also practising with the special sport equipment like these ones http://jonsguide.org/best-top-inversion-table-reviews/ :) Some yoga practises are good too but they aren't used for the massive growing of muscles, more for flexibility and muscular strength ;)
