How many books of the following lists have you read ? For the authors, it count only if you actually read one work from this person (or possibly watch the play, when (s)he is a playwright).

1 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bokklubben_World_Library : literary works regarded as the best written ever by a panel of authors from all over the world.
2 - http://www.ranker.com/list/best-writers-of-all-time/ranker-books?&var=2 : parcipative ranking, people do vote for their preferred book(s).
3 - http://www.imdb.com/list/ls005774742/ : last but not least, a list of authors.

Do you think such lists make sense ? If it is in your opinion, how accurate these examples seem to you ? If not, why ?

My answers :
1) 30/100
2) 38/100 (and 50 out of 150)
3) 36/100

The only one on that first list I have read completely is "1984". That book was great, though.
I've also read some of Andersen's tales, but definitely not all of them. And I know that I read at least parts of "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" when I was a kid.
"Buddenbrooks" and "Anna Karenina" are two books that I was already planning on reading someday. But looking at this list I see quite a few that I'm interested in, including works by Shakespeare, Kafka, Edgar Allan Poe, Tolstoy and all the old Greek ones.
