Led Zeppelin did not plagiarise the opening cords of the rock epic Stairway to Heaven from the US band Spirit, a Los Angeles jury found.

I heard this on the radio today. I did a thread earlier on this to, didn't go far, but cool, I'm glad another Zeppelin Fans here, and don't see them as just a cover band lol!!

I heard this earlier as well. Great news, they face too many issues such as these.

I'm happy to hear, they shouldn't have to deal with that nonsense. My opinions tend to be different from the popular, but I didn't think the two songs sounded that similar. I could see how one could think so, but it was only a slight similarity in my brain.

I never doubted they didn't plagiarize a thing, but music is usually harder to detect on the fact of plagiarism (https://plagiarismcheck.org/blog/how-to-prevent-plagiarism/), I guess there are no special tools like those for written content. I am sorry Led Zeppelin were involved in these rumors and had to deal with so many issues related to plagiarism (which became very widespread in the era of internet).
