I've only just started listening to heavy metal in general, i'm a big fan of the first 5 Metallica albums and the first 2 Black Sabbaths albums, but I can't get into anything else. I really don't like stuff that just screams and sounds like noise, Any ideas?

Iron Maiden ? Also heavy doesn't always mean screaming but I like screaming :)

Try that. Sort of songs that just get's better the louder you play it.

I suggest the newest Ghost B.C album, it's very lightweight but still great. It's not for everyone though. Probably one of the most occult bands to show up recently.

Sempiternal by Bring Me The Horizon is also pretty good, not heavy metal but metalcore. Shouldn't really matter though.

I know a few bands but they aren't exactly heavy metal. They have some lighter parts on their songs, but they're classified as in alternative metal/ hard rock. Alter Bridge and Tremonti. It'll probably depend on the songs, but some of them are heavier.

Iron Maiden, Dokken, Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin

Edit: Although they are labeled a "grunge" band, Alice in Chains' first album "Facelift" leans towards heavy metal

Maybe this is completely out of range, but if you're in for some touching lyrics, try Korn, they're nu-metal, but I think you might like it,
