I had this idea to make a thread where members can link to free online academic resources for all those who wish to learn more about a given subject.

If members could also supply linked reading lists for subjects they enjoy that would be great as well.

I'm going to start off this thread with a link to Yale's free courses (https://m.youtube.com/channel/UC4EY_qnSeAP1xGsh61eOoJA) on YouTube. Basically they've recorded a number of courses on a diverse array of subjects and put them up on YouTube free of charge. I just found this, and I'm very much enjoying the physics lectures. Below the video links (http://oyc.yale.edu/courses) are provided to related recommended reading and the course exams. A+ recommended!

MIT Open Courses (http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/find-by-topic/) hosts a wide range of subjects. I find the more mathematical-orientated ones tend to be better done. Most popular (http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/most-visited-courses/) ones for those interested.

I liked the introduction to probability and statistics for economics when I took it.

Edit: I also took down the handful of economics texts I put up. I decided since I didn't know the source of most of them it wasn't worth running the risk of legal action for the site.

Most of the links I could provide are in french but here's a few sources treating on various subjects:

-Open Classroom (https://openclassrooms.com/) A website with a lot of free courses, mainly in informatics.

-Wikiversity (https://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Wikiversity:Main_Page) A nice Wiki that helped me understand Lagrangian mechanics. You've got courses of everything.

-Wikibooks (https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Main_Page) Another Wiki (I'm so original I know) where you can read some technical books for free. Particularly helped me understand CPU micro-architectures.
