Yes, it's been more than a month since the new year, but I'm bad at resolutions, alright?

So I know I'm not fat but it seems that whenever I bring up the topic people have a need to say 'oh no, you're not fat'. No I didn't say I was fat, I said I was podgy lol.

So I used to dance and swim A LOT when I was younger and thus ended up with quite large thighs. However, even though I do lots of sport at school it's not enough to get rid of the podge I've accumulated around my hips, thighs and waist since stopping the high activity sports. Having a slow metabolism doesn't help either.

I'm not unhappy with my body - I like it's shape but I really want to tone my thighs and stomach, well basically all over.

Does anyone have any links to workouts which are high intensity and actually do stuff? (I do know it takes a while)

Eating fruit, berries and lean protein can help raise your metabolism.

Try joining a gym or incest in a pair of running shoes.

Lifting is a great way to gain muscle and stay in shape. The only thing I can thing of better than lifting is running.

Try boxing or yoga or dance. Activities that seem more fun than a mundane work out. Or incorporate it into a already planned work out schedule/ plan.

I also know squats are a really good full body work out (try it with the bar then add weight when needed).

Do you like to run? Running is simply the best thing to get fit. You can listen to music too. And it doesn't always have to be long distance, you can do sprints on the football field. And do crunches and planks for your abs.

Thanks for this. I've only just started going through vt again. I'll try it out :)

For the past couple of years, my stepmum has taken up a Pilates class. You may think that it's similar to yoga, but in fact it's a bit more high impact. She doesn't do any exercise other than the Pilates once or twice a week and all of her body is toned and lean. I'm sure you can pick it up at a nearby gym? I'd consider it.

I used to be pudgy. I started boxing 3 days a week for 2 hours a day. I love it. I hate lifting and boxers don't lift weights or use supplements we have to have flexible muscle. I suggest taking up a MMA or boxing class. Its a great way to get in shape and have fun.

I agree with the previous responses that first of all you should avoid the junk food  Or at least try eat what you want but compensate with th enough activity later, in my case it always works :)
I think that in your case yoga practises and Pilates will be useful because they concentrate much on your problematic parts of the body ;) Also visiting a gym is good, there are a lot of stuff which can help in your case, like this one (http://jonsguide.org/best-proform-elliptical-reviews/) for example :)
You wrote that you liked dancing earlier why not to start dance again? It's also a good way for loosing weight and get more elegant figure! :)

I agree with the other responses :)

However, I invite you to try Zumba! It's a great dance workout, and since I started it this semester, it's been a really great workout which I combine with my other fitness-related activities to tone and lean.

But, you have to combine other fitness activities with it for the best results.

If you don't have enough time to go to sport center you can buy any sport equipment and try to make exercise there. For instance, I've chosen my recumbent bike at this web-page (http://jonsguide.org/best-recumbent-bike-review/) and use it 2 times in a day:) The result is impressive. And stop eating sweets! I hope you will manage to do i! Beauty body is high-demanded nowadays! :)
