View Full Version : Your Public Transit

December 8th, 2015, 04:25 AM
In this topic you can post pics of your local public transit. If you're not keen being too specific about where you are, perhaps local transit in a nearby city or something would suffice. You can post as many or as few pics as you want and you can also comment on other people's pics. This thread was originally done years ago, so I thought it would be a good time to revive it.

Pics of buses, trains and ferries in Sydney. Some are from google and others are originals.

Pretty much the bus I get on everyday, well that's what it looks like anyways. It sucks man, people are so ignorant and rude on the buses in my town.

And then this looks like the train I get on if I go to see my friends in the town over or if I go to a big city or something.

it fucking sucks

Local buses suck. You know, Dundas is not too far from where I live! That would be a hell of a commute! :P The only bus I can tolerate are the express buses such as the one below.

This bus can be the best or worst experience of your life. Depending what route you go on, who's driving the bus, and who's specifically on the bus with you.

VTA is the bus agency in the South Bay region of San Francisco. It's really shitty, it has some of the biggest gaps I've ever seen. If you miss your bus, you can wait up to 30 minutes EVEN ON OUR BUSIEST LINE.

At least the buses look new and fancy.

If you can afford the bit more pricey Caltrain ride, you'll end up at your destination much faster, sometimes even faster than driving by car. You can get from Palo Alto to San Jose in as little as 15 minutes during rush hour, if you take the express train:

Public transport in the UK is garbage, it's expensive, so expensive it's cheaper to run, buy, and insure by bike for a year than to get the bus for a year, my bike equates to about 3 a day, to get the bus is at least 5 a day, also it's always late, they're uncomfortable and cramped, they constantly break down, they're unnecessary loud (but then again I do love the sound of a Turbo Diesel), the smoke like a fucking chimney AND they leave Diesel and oil all over the roads.

this post/pic captures the exact reason why public transport hasn't caught on in most Murican cities

in a private vehicle you can roll up your windows and lock the door when driving through a """""bad neighborhood""""", but good luck to ya if you're on a bus with a member of the dusky downtrodden and he suddenly decides to perform ad-hoc brain-surgery on you with a sideways nine

Wow does no one else have streetcars? I live in a very large city where we use a lot of streetcars instead of busses.
