Hi
I have just started getting interested in getting in shape, and am unsure where to start. What are some signs that losing fat might be a good idea?

Check with your dr, and see if they think that it's neccessary for you to loose fat. Ask them to calculate your BMI which is probally the most accurate method to decide if your weight is healthy.

You'll find lots of different ways on the Internet to go about loosing fat, but really the only person you can trust to give you advice on what is healthy and right for you is your doctor as they know you best.

It takes a lot of discipline. Stay away from processed food and exercise often. It's a lifestyle.

For the calculation of the BMI, here's a link to a calculator:

And to lose fat,
I'll advise you to
Drink a lot of water. A doctor will advise you to drink 35ml of water/Kg/ day
So if someone is 60kg, he should drink 60*35ml= 2100ml which is around 2 liters of water daily.
And it's important to know what one's eating and also to exercise everyday.
