So I've had two posts on the bipolar section of this forum, and basically my meds have been changed, I'm currently on Abilify and melatonin (which do not help at all) and my recent antics (failing in school, being violent, spending thousands of pounds on credit accounts in my mums name) have been noticed, but not until I stated feeling depressed and suicidal did I get put under a 72 hour hold in our nearest hospital which specialises in mental health; where surprisingly I was told everything was normal! I was booked in for an emergency appointment with my psychiatrist who also agrees with the hospital, but my mum (who has PTSD) and my sister (who had bipolar and has been sectioned 3 times) think otherwise, opinions on this situation guys?

So your on a hold or were and they took you off? I'm a little confused sorry lol

Your wanting a med change? If so I would certainly say something to them.

If your stuck in the ward against your will then, hmmm... I don't have anything good to say about the ward but I also do not live in the UK. Yours may be better. If you don't want to go to the ward I would just try to convince them your ok. Don't cry or act depressed or crazy. And if you do want to go convince them to let you. In that case act depressed lol

Hi Billy,
I hope you are doing better now. I would imagine the hospital is a bit scary. I have never been admitted to one, but would stay if needed. Your behaviors do kind of sound like BPD, but could also just be a crazy adolescent episode. Sometimes it is hard to tell which is which.

If your Mum & sister both have mental health histories, the doctor is probably just trying to keep you safe & assess you for BPD.

This is a great advice. You should say something about your meds, since they are not working.
If you were feeling suicidal and the doctors thought you could commit suicide is normal they put 72 hour hold, now since they say everything is normal and your psychiatrist agrees with them just act normal and they will let you go. In this case i think you should trust more in your doctors than your mom, since they are the experts.
Good luck
