THE DRAGON UNLEASHED

I love the sound of breaking glass
when Anger has gripped at the nape of my neck
its teeth sinking into my skin
droplets of blood rolling down my back
over each bump of each vertebra of my spine.

When Anger has gripped me
there is no control
no reason
no Life
only fire, and pain, and hate, and sadness
when Anger has me
I know only the glass
the crash and crunch and scream of its shards
under the soles of my feet
in the palms of my hands.

When Anger has gripped me
I know nothing else,
save the pain that has done this to me.

TALK ON THE STREET

Hey, brother
can you spare a dime?
See, I just got done
doin' time,
in control of my own mind
my own time
once again.
I been walkin' around
lookin' for Hope,
found some Dope,
shit, now I'm doin' fine....
Hey, brother
can you spare a dime?

Yo, man
can you spare some change?
I been tryin' to rearrange
my life
to get it.
See I need to catch
the next bus on this line
to get around the corner
to find it.
It?
Man, it's the shit!
And as soon as I got it
I'll be the one runnin'
the Game.
Yo, man
can you spare some change?

Mister?
Could you spare a quarter,
somethin'?
...haven't eaten in...
oh
three days,
been on my own for nine.
See, I ran away
`cause my father thought
I was his teenage love slave.
So, I had to split
that scene.
Better?
I don't know.
I don't think I know
what better is.
All I need
is a quarter more,
then I can get somethin'
to eat.

RACE TO ARMAGEDDON

When mothers become murderers,
When children become thieves,
When fathers become rapists,
and priests, just like these...
When the leaders are known liars,
and teachers don't care,
When police become sadists,
and everyone is scared...
When doctors worry most about their profit gains,
When scientists race to save us from the wonders of their own brains,

When you fear helping someone in need,

When you think of babies being born...
and you cry.
