We are currently looking for members to apply and fill the positions available in the Pyschiatric Ward section.
To be a moderator here a member will need to have shown an ability in the following areas:
A lot of knowledge in the areas covered
Sensitivity in the topics brought up
ActiveThe Pyschiatric Ward is the section on which VT was founded. This section is very important. It covers very sensitive topics, which need to be answered in a proper manner. A good moderator here needs to be able to recognise what is acceptable and not. This goes for the whole site but in particular this section.
Please only make one post if you wish to apply. Comments on other applications are not needed and you are free to apply to more than one position.
Thank you.

I would like to apply....
I know alot about meds and mental illness, Whatever I dont know I can look up quickly. I will do my best to make sure that all questions go answerd correctly.
I will give sympathy to them because what they are going through I probably have myself. And will do my best to help them solve their problem.
I may not have that many posts, because I read a whole lot of threads I just answer the ones that matter to me. But I have been a member for almost a year so I have not left the site like most members do and I will do my best to be on as much as I can.

Hi,
As I've mentioned in the other threads, when applying for the position of moderator I've had much experience in the past, as a moderator and administrator of various forums, and I am currently setting up a forum of my own, which is of the same nature as VT.
A lot of knowledge in the areas covered:
I have a rather large knowledge of the areas covered in this section, specifically Depression and self harm, both of which I have experienced first hand in the past, and mental illness's and things such as eating disorders. I have many relatives who work or have worked in fields such as these (My aunts a consultant in neurology, and my grandmother has worked on an actual psych. ward), so know more about these kinds of problems than many other people. I also have read up on subjects such as these personally.
Sensitivity in the topics brought up:
I know what kind of attitude to take up, when dealing with the problems found in these forums, specifically those of Depression and Self Harm due to my past experience with them. I know how to deal with these kinds of problems, and how to help those suffering from them. I hold a certain level of sensitivity when dealing with problems such as these, and posses the required temperament.
Active:
I am a fairly active member in this section, and often advise people and offer help. Like the P101 forums, I generally visit this section daily, posting whenever I can be of use.
Thank you once again,
Darkeden

I've been dealing with severe clinical depression for the past year. been on VT for 1 year. in 10 days =D I'm VERY active in the psychiatric ward. you can look at all my posts. I believe I am fairly helpful. I think I would be a good candidate for the job :) thats about all I have too say. if you consider me and you have anymore question feel free too ask :)

1. What experience you have with issues that arise in The Psychiatric Ward?
I have a great amount of experience with issues in this nature. I have done my research on illnesses, especially Bi-Polar and OCD, and I have concluded for myself to be a case of both of those. Also two of my very close relatives died last year within 4 months of each other and it took me 3 months to convince myself it wasn't my fault and I felt really guilty. So I fell that since those tragedies I can deal with grief really well and I can help others that are going through similar issues. As for self-harm and abuse I have talked to people on and off the site and I feel like I know why this happens and how to help them so I think I am prepared for that. Also the VT general hospital is probably my favorite place to go because I am a die hard House fan. So I like to solve puzzles medically.
2. I believe I would be good for the job because I am on VT extremely often and would be able to moderate basically everyday. Also I (even though I sometimes don't like it) have a sense of what is fair and what is right and I believe that I could do well in that area. And finally I have had very similar experiences to what people that come on here have had and I feel I will be able to connect with them.
Thanks for the opportunity
