alright, i'm posting this as a warning to other guys here.
if you're having pain "down there" (testicles, etc,) don't wait for it to pass.
get it checked out.
it could be a number of things, or it might not be anything at all.
but, it's better to go get checked out, even if it's embarrasing, than to be sorry later.
i waited for over a year before i finally realized that i needed to get medical attention
and now, i might be sterile.
and... that might not be the worst of it.
so, basically, if you're having pain that doesn't seem normal, DON'T wait for it to pass.
go get checked out, even if it turns out to pass in the end.

Great idea, this is huge, I think its important that people (especially newer users) on VT know that if they thinks something wrong, they shouldn't just start a thread about it and then talk about they're afraid of telling their parents or afraid of the doctor. They should realize that if there's seriously something wrong down there, there's no harm in going to the doctor. REP + :P

Hiding from your parents isn't a good idea. They'll find out eventually. It isn't the world if they know.

What exactly is the big deal? You have a problem with your body/health so you tell them so they can help you or get you the help you need. It's nothing to be embarrassed about. You just tell them directly - there isn't much to it.

It can embarrassing be but you'll just have to suck it up and get over it. Life and future that's on the line. You can't just walk into a doctor's office and expect treatment. Most teens can't even drive and to see your doctor you need to pay a fee (usually) and present your insurance card and because you are a minor a parent needs to be present. You can't just do it on your own. No one here is an adult so parents need to be told. Don't tell people otherwise.

I'm gonna unsticky this now so the forum isn't cluttered with so many of them, but I did add this info to the Puberty FAQ Announcement so people will still be able to read it and this doesn't get lost. Thanks David for sharing your story.
