I have a lot of experience with the issues that come up in the psychiactric ward, I've been abused, I SI, I get depressed a lot, I used to do drugs but have given up. I am mentally ill.

I would be good for the job because with all the shit going on at the moment with me, I need something stable. I'd throw myself head first into this, and do my very best.

Thankyou for reading this.

I could be useful in the ward. My strongest points would be in the mental illnesses area as I've had first hand experience from living with someone with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and done enough research on it to know what are signs of these conditions and what are helpful in treating them. I can also be useful in eating disorders. I've never done drugs nor self-harmed so I wouldn't be very knowledgeable in those sections and would be my weakest areas.

1. What experience you have with issues that arise in The Psychiatric Ward?
I have a great amount of experience with issues in this nature. I have done my research on illnesses, especially Bi-Polar and OCD, and I have concluded for myself to be a case of both of those. Also two of my very close relatives died last year within 4 months of each other and it took me 3 months to convince myself it wasn't my fault and I felt really guilty. So I fell that since those tragedies I can deal with grief really well and I can help others that are going through similar issues. As for self-harm and abuse I have talked to people on and off the site and I feel like I know why this happens and how to help them so I think I am prepared for that. Also the VT general hospital is probably my favorite place to go because I am a die hard House fan. So I like to solve puzzles medically.

2. I believe I would be good for the job because I am on VT extremely often and would be able to moderate basically everyday. Also I (even though I sometimes don't like it) have a sense of what is fair and what is right and I believe that I could do well in that area. And finally I have had very similar experiences to what people that come on here have had and I feel I will be able to connect with them.

Thanks for the opportunity,
Orchdork :)

1. I myself, consider myself to have a good life. I don't really have to deal with any of the issues in there honestly. I do feel though that I can give advice, and that I have learned a lot from reading those forums in my time here.

2. Well I have moderated the Ward before, and I think besides a few incidents, I held my ground pretty well. I enjoy giving advice, and love having that feeling when I help someone. I think if I was assisted by an individual who was not only an active member of the site, but also has a good knowledge of the subject area, the Ward would be under great management.

I hope you take me into consideration, and I hope the best man (or woman) wins :D

1. What experience you have with issues that arise in The Psychiatric Ward?

I have the experience of having struggled with, and overcome, my SI and in being diagnosed with, and having to cope with, bipolar disorder. This means I can help advise particularly well in the depression, bipolar and cutting and slef harm forums. I am a sexual abuse survivor, though I would not class this as my forte. Although I have not experienced it, I have researched quite thoroughly into schizophrenia - this includes having friends (outside of this community) who suffer from it. My research and an element of personal experience has lead to an accumulation in my knowledge of OCD as well.

2. Why you would be good for the job?

There is only so much someone can do over the internet for another, but I enjoy helping and advising people as best I can. I feel as if I have things to contribute in a constructive manner.
My strongest areas are those of bipolar, depression and SI where I am confident I can give quality advice. My weak points would be those of domestic abuse, drug abuse and eating disorders.

I think ~TorturedBeauty~ would do a great job as a Psychiatric Ward mod!
She's a pretty active member and always active in the Psychiatric Ward. She gives solid advice and she speaks from experience. And from what I know, she has nobody against her! =]

Good luck to everybody!

Hi,
I know im relatively new here, and most of you wont know me, but I may be a suitable candidate for the job.

1. What experience you have with issues that arise in The Psychiatric Ward?

While I may not have dealt with such things on Virtualteen.org, I have dealt with them in other places, such as school and among friends. These experiances range from people merely being depressed, all the way to suicide and self harm, although i wont go into to much detail for the privacy of those people involved. I have a very good knoledge of mental health for my age, and also have a great desire to help people with such problems. I know i have no evidence to show, but i can assure you, I would be of great help to the forum.

2.Why you would be good for the job?

I have a LOT of experiance moderating forums.
I have been a global moderator on 2 forums, a moderator on 5 forums (One of which was "Aerosoft", a once large and very forum), and the admin of 2 (both established by me) forums. I am a great person to talk to if you need to "let off some steam" and I am easy to get along with. I can take abuse, and can think situations through and deal with them in a cival and reasonable fashion. I have a great understanding of the use of all major PHP Bulletin Boards such as V-Bulletin. I respect people opinions, which is an important trait that a moderator should posses. I am loyal, do not abuse power, and I am not the kind of person that bend rules to suit themselfes.

I also get a great feeling of satisfaction helping others, and offering councelling if they find themselfes in a bad situation.

I've been volunteering at sych wards for five years, and have seen and taken care of many different people with mental illnesses. At first I only delivered medicines, but now I help them to the bathroom and other tasks. My mother is the clinical manager at the hospital and gives me advice and explains illnesses to me.

I think I'd be good wwith the job because to take care or in this case give advice to metally ill people you would need patience and exoerience and I believe I have most of both.

Thank you,
~DSW

hmm... lets see here

1. I have had many troublesome times during my life which prove me to be the best man for the job.

In 2006, My best friend commited suicide.(no i'm not giving names) R.I.P.
He slit his wrists . I went through 2 months of being sent down to guidance at school because i wouldn't do anything. I just sat there and blamed myself on, Oh, if I did this he would still be alive, or if i hadn't said that he would still be alive. After those long times, I was told that scrapbooks could help. I made a scrap book of him and keep it on my shelf, opened to my favorite page, the one a week before he killed himself, at a field trip, with goofy faces. I managed to get through those tough weeks, without harming myself, got my grades back, up, and got to his grave every weekend.

2. I have been through this stuff, and i know i can help people get through it.
