Whenever Im doing anything I always have to do it in a correct series like say just opening a door I would have to turn the handle the "correct" number of times or like looking at a picture I would have to blink whilst looking at it a "correct" number of times or when writing I would have to repeat letters until I have a "correct" amount causing many mistakes, the "correct" numbers are 3, 7, 13, 17, 18, 33, 37 I ALWAYS have to do ANYTHING the amount of times as one of the numbers. I am a total perfectionist and I never used to be like this it only started about a year ago when my form teacher started verbally abusing and just bullying me. Help?

That sounds like OCD to me, although we can not diagnose you here. It's definitely not normal. Maybe you should go and see your GP about this who will be able to refer you to proper help.

Yeah I thought that's a good idea so I told my dad about it and he took it very seriously and said that he would take me to my GP today or tomorrow.

its great that youre going to see your GP
OCD can spiral out of control and really make your life hell, youre lucky your dads taking it seriously too! not all parents do

The only time I could go is tomorrow morning so I will post what my gp says tomorrow. Hoping he knows what to do about it and can help. Wish me luck!

Well I kinda forgot to post back on friday :P but uh yeah the doctor said that I have OCD and that the main way its manifesting itself is my handwriting because I make my handwriting perfect for me but when I think its perfect no one else can read it. He said that I need to work on handwriting the rest will be easy and to come back in 2-3 weeks to see how its gone and then will consult me to a specialist which is good news!

That sounds great! I'm glad your father took it seriously, since a lot of parents can ignore/whatever these kind of things.

its good that your dad is taking you to see someone, most parents tell you not to be so silly, and that your just being a perfectionist.... :/ xxx

i'm surprised your gp was able to dx you. generally that has to be a pysch. i have ocd as well and it's tough, but possible. good luck with your battle. if your battle continues and anxiety gets really bad, you might want to try meds. i'm on meds now for all my conditions, ocd, tourettes, and autism. on my meds i do really well.

I hope you're doing better now! I have OCD too but I'm getting better. I think. I still have to walk a certain way. Like I just HAVE to walk the longest distance so I keep switching sides... Can't really explain it. And when I think, I gotta think in certain smooth colours... It's really hard to explain haha but yeah, you get what I mean.

All the best! :)
